Proposed Keeping of Animals, Poultry and Bees in Urban Areas Bylaw

The Hurunui District Council intends to make a new Bylaw to manage the keeping of animals in urban areas to protect the public from possible nuisance effects eg noise, and health risks eg from manure.

Leithfield Reserve Purchase

The Council has received an offer to purchase two adjacent blocks of land as reserve within the Leithfield Township. Before making a decision, the Council would like to hear the community views on the possible purchase and funding.

Proposed Northern Pegasus Bay Bylaw

The Hurunui District Council intends to make a Bylaw to control activities and the use of land, including camping, the use of horses and the use of vehicles, on the foreshore, beaches and adjacent areas of Northern Pegasus Bay within its district.

Public Meetings are being held on the following dates if you wish to come along and talk to Council staff about the proposed bylaw.

Amberley Beach Community Hall, Monday 14 September, 7pm

Leithfield Beach Community Hall, Wednesday 17 September, 7pm

Submissions close 4pm, 30 October.
