Canterbury Regional Economic Development Strategy (CREDS) - CREDS 2005 was developed through a partnership and collaboration among the Canterbury Forum, the Economic Development Agencies and key stakeholders and partners in the region. CREDS includes responses to issues at the individual district and sub-region level in the form of stand-alone strategic plans for those areas. CREDS 2005 provides a ‘top down, bottom up’ strategic commentary and action agenda for Canterbury and its constituent districts and cities. The vision is: “Canterbury is a world leading regional economy founded on innovation, diversity and sustainability: A region that is a great place to live, learn, work, visit, invest and do business for all.”

Government Weather tight Homes Resolution Service - To provide help for owners of affected properties, the Government has set up the Weathertight Homes Resolution Service. Homeowners can get free advice through the 0800 116 926 help line. Those who meet the service's entry criteria can have their homes assessed by an independent assessor at no charge. If their claim is found to be eligible, they may then choose to use either mediation or adjudication to resolve their case. The fees for these services have been kept deliberately modest - $200 for mediation, $400 for adjudication.
