Proposed Plan Change 19 – Gore Bay Design Standards

Notice is hereby given that the Hurunui District Council proposes Plan Change 19 to the Hurunui District Plan pursuant to clause 5 of the First Schedule to the Resource Management Act 1991.

Proposed Plan Change 19 provides for subdivision and design standards specific to the Gore Bay urban area with the intention to maintain the existing character of the settlement.  The proposed changes include a new urban area policy, a new minimum lot size, and new land use rules for the Gore Bay urban area.

The proposed Plan Change, the Section 32 Report and the submission forms are available at any Council Service Centre and Library located at Amberley, Cheviot, Culverden and Hanmer Springs, or can be downloaded as below.

Call for further submissions

The closing date for further submissions was 7 August 2009.

Hearing of submissions

The hearings were held in Amberley on 19 and 20 October.  The hearings panel was comprised of Independent Commissioner Bob Batty, Councillor Vince Daly and Councillor Judy Meikle.

Decision

The recommendations of the hearings panel, to withdraw the proposed change, were adopted by Council on 26 November 2009.
