Community Liaison Group
The Community Liaison Group (CLG) was established in July 2005. It was required to be established as a condition of the resource consents granted by the Environment Court. The condition specifies the terms and conditions of the Group.
The membership shall consist of a maximum of 3 representatives of the property owners of the Waipara/Omihi area; two representatives of the owners of Mt Cass Road; and one representative of the consent holder.
A representative from each of the consent authorities is invited to attend meetings in an observer capacity.
The members of the CLG shall be offered the opportunity of a quarterly site inspection and a quarterly meeting.
The prime purpose of the quarterly meetings with the CLG will be to:
(i) Explain the progress of the landfill operation; (ii) Listen to, and discuss as far as practicable any community and cultural concerns with the landfill operation; (iii) Present and discuss the complaints register and results of any monitoring and or reporting as required by the conditions of the regional and district council consents.
