Getaway Kit
In some emergencies, such as a flood or volcanic eruption, you will need to evacuate, taking your Getaway Kit with you. Everyone in the house should have a Getaway Kit. This kit should include:
Family Documents
- Birth and marriage certificates
- Driver's licences and passports
- Financial information (insurance policies, mortgage information, etc.)
- Family photos
Personal Items
- Towels, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper and sanitary items
- Hearing aids, glasses, mobility aids for elderly or vulnerable members of your household
- Blankets
- Baby needs (if applies)
- Extra clothing
- Essential medicines or copies of medicine prescriptions
