Giving effect to the Proposed District Plan
As of 20 April 2018, all appeals have been resolved through mediation.
There are no outstanding appeals, so all parts of the plan are treated as operative. However, the final steps of the plan process are yet to occur. These are:
- the Council approving the plan (which comprises the Proposed District Plan as Amended by Decisions 2016; Clause 16 minor corrections and the appeal resolutions);
- the plan formally becoming operative.
These steps are expected to occur in May and June 2018.
Appeals - updated 23 April 2018
The Council received six appeals on the Decisions Version of the Proposed Plan. The chapters directly affected were 3, 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17 and 20.
All appeals have now been resolved. The Environment Court has issued decisions and Consent Orders on these appeals. The decisions state that the appeals are allowed to the extent that Hurunui District Council is directed to make amendments to the Proposed Hurunui District Plan. These amendments have been incorporated into the Decisions Version of the Proposed Hurunui District Plan.
Appeal information is located here.
