Got overdues?
Membership
Free to all people living or paying rates within the Hurunui District (membership is funded through your rates)
If a membership card is lost it may be replaced at a cost of $2
Fines
Fines will be charged for overdue materials as follows:
Three week issue
Adults $1 per item per week (max $3 per item)
Children 50c per item per week (max $1.50 per item)
One week issue
Adults $1 per 2 days (max $3 per item)
Children 50c per 2 days (max $1.50 per item)
If there is $9 or more owing on your library card or if fines are more than 9 weeks old you will be unable to borrow any items until the fines are paid.
Lost and badly damaged books
Costs for items lost or damaged will be based on the replacement cost of the item with a minimum charge of $20.
Reserving and Requesting
Any item held in any library in the District may be requested. Reserve charges apply to ‘Hot Favourites’. Items not held within the district can be requested from other libraries in NZ for a small charge.
Rentals
A rental of $2 per item is charged for audiovisual items in the Music Collection and the Video/DVD collection
