Local Food Waste Audit Attracts National TV Coverage

The Campbell Live film crew popped down to the Amberley Transfer Station today to film a food waste audit that was underway.

What is a Food Waste Audit? It is a check through rubbish bags to find out the types and volumes of food waste being thrown away. Our audit is being carried out by an organisation on behalf of the Joint Waste Committee as part of a national programme. There is no cost to us, and we are hoping that we can use the results to work out how we can encourage people to manage their food waste more responsibly.

As you can see in the photos – tucked away near the back is our very own Mayor, Winton Dalley, who was keen to don the gloves and muck in to see for himself what the district’s waste was made up of.P1070861P1070868
