Long Service Recognised by Mayor and Councillors

At its meeting today the Hurunui District Council took time out to thank two long serving staff members for their dedication and commitment to their jobs and to the district.

Nelson Bateman celebrated 25 years of service with the water department in Hanmer Springs and Avril Lockhead 15 years with the Library in Amberley. Both are highly respected members of their teams and often praised by their customers. They have seen many changes at the organisation throughout their time, both with systems, technology and people.

Institutions in their communities as well as in their jobs, the council is pleased that they are both planning on staying here for many more years to come.

Nelson and Avril each received certificates of service and were invited to join the Mayor and councilors for morning tea.
