Waiau Drinking Water Upgrade
Earlier this week, Hurunui District Council organised for a preliminary inspection and physical running of the new drinking water purification plant serving the Waiau Township community. These works were undertaken as part of a successful application to the Ministry of Health’s Drinking Water Standard Subsidy scheme, of which we qualified for 85% subsidy towards the costs of this project which will bring this community in line with the new Drinking Water Standards.
Works are due for completion in the first quarter of 2016. Preliminary test results show vast improvements for this scheme.
