Summer Journeys - Be Smart. Plan Ahead
This summer, the NZ Transport Agency is asking people on the roads travelling to work or on holiday to be smart and plan ahead to stay safe and avoid delays. Road works, as many of us know living in Christchurch is a bit like toothache when you think it’s over, here is another work site!
You can find this by going online and checking www.nzta.govt.nz/summerjourneys for up to date information on road works and detours. Or you can also find out by calling 0800 444 449 or following us on Facebook or Twitter.
Each summer, crews work on making our roads better and safer for everybody. This means there are more people working on the roads.
We want them, and others, to get home safely. People need to slow down through road works. Everyone has a role to play in reducing the harm that happens on our roads, so we’re asking people to be patient and observe temporary speed restrictions. These are in place to protect the safety of the road workers and to limit damage to any works already under construction.
The more you plan the better prepared you will be for a more predictable journey.
