FORECAST FOR HURUNUI AND KAIKOURA DISTRICTS
TODAY (SUNDAY): Fine apart from a few showers in the far west of the Districts until mid-evening. Strong west to northwest winds, gusting 90 km/h in exposed places, slowly easing.
TOMORROW (MONDAY): Mainly fine, but a few showers in the far west of the Hurunui District during the day with snow flurries possible above 900 metres during the morning, reaching the summit of the Lewis Pass, although no snow is expected to settle on the road. Brief showers are also possible along the coast early morning but less than 1-2mm should fall. Strong westerly winds turning southwest for a time in the morning then easing later morning and turning north to northwest in the afternoon.
