Applications open for environmental and heritage grants
The Hurunui Fund has two categories:
The $10,000 Mainpower Hurunui Natural Enviroment Fund towards works on public or private land that restore, reinstate or otherwise benefit the natural environment. ($7,000 is allocated to the protection of existing indigenous values, and $3,000 for work that reinstates indigenous vegetation.
The $5,000 Hurunui Heritage Fund is available for projects that improve preservation or understanding of the district's heritage.
Applications for either fund must be lodged at the council offices in Amberley by FRIDAY 8 APRIL 2011.
Application forms can be obtained from any council office or library or on our downloaded from the awards page on our website.
