Update - Waiau Rural Water Scheme - Tues 16 May noon - late afternoon 16 May 2017

The scheme is back up and running, and was off for only a short time.

This week we had planned a very minor shut down to allow for some repair to earthquake damaged pipes.  On investigation today, we have found that the shut down will last for the afternoon and all going well the scheme will be back up and running by early evening.  Please check back for updates.

Hurunui No. 1 Rural Water Scheme - Monday 15 - Wednesday 17 May 2017

Update - Greta is back on and the rest of the scheme should be back on by 6.00pm tonight (Tuesday)

Please start conserving water now!

This shut down is to allow for the commissioning of the new pump shed, that will enhance stability and reliability of the water supply. It will affect those consumers on the Davaar line and the Greta Line. We have allowed three days for the shut-down to cover any unforeseen events. If all goes to plan we would expect that the Greta line will be back on by Monday afternoon and the Davaar line connected by Tuesday lunchtime. Please ensure you have at least three day’s supply of water to get you through this closure. Thank you for your patience whilst this work is being carried out.

Culverden Township - Tuesday 16 May 2017

The local utilities officer needs to shut the water off to part of the Culverden Township water supply on Tues, May 16 to allow for pipe repair and installation.  The shut down will occur at approx 9.00 am and end at 12.00 noon. This will also affect properties in Lyndon St, part of Montrose Ave, part of St Leonards Rd, and a small section of Mountainview Rd (SH 7).  If the shut down will affect your property, you should have a notification dropped into your letter box.

Hanmer Springs - Chalet Cres/Acheron Heights/Alpine Ave - Thursday 11 May 2017

The local utilities officer needs to shut the water off to Chalet Cres, Hanmer Springs on Thurs, May 11 to allow for pipe repair work.  The shut down will occur at approx 12.00pm and could last up to four hours.  This will also affect some properties in the Acheron Heights/Alpine Ave area.

Why do we need to shut down water schemes?

From time to time, with little or no notice, a water scheme needs to be shut down for a short period of time. This occurs for a variety of reasons, for example:

Our Utilities staff work around the clock where there is a need, to ensure that a continuous flow is maintained to your property.
