Watermain upgrade: Amberley

Hurunui District Council has engaged Trenching Dynamix to carry out the essential watermain upgrades in Amberley. The pipe upgrade will replace the existing drinking watermain running from the Kowai water treatment plant through to Amberley township along SH1.

The new pipe will be of a larger diameter making it more reliable and allow for future growth of Amberley.

The works will be carried out in stages along this route starting at the water treatment plant at Kowai River south branch, and will include several road crossings by drilling under the State Highway.

Where possible property access will be maintained.

Further Closures will be circulated closer to the exact dates and will be advertised widely.

The anticipated completion date is 30 June 2023.
