Road Stopping - Portion of Leonard Street, Waiau

Council are proposing to stop a portion of Leonard Street adjoining 9 Highfield Street, Waiau, Hurunui District. Leonard Street is an unformed legal road. An unformed road is a legal road that has not been improved or shaped in a significant way (the term “paper road” is often used for unformed legal roads).

We are proposing to change land with the legal status of road to a freehold title. In this case the portion of road if stopped will be sold to the adjoining landowner.

If you would like to object to this proposal you must lodge your objection in writing to the Hurunui District Council Attn: Cameron Ashworth either in person to 66 Carters Road, Amberley, or posted to PO Box 13, Amberley 7441 or email cameron.ashworth@hurunui.govt.nz to arrive no later than 5:00pm 24 February 2023.
