DOUGLAS ROAD FULL CLOSURE – Friday 7am to 7pm 24/01 –
Douglas Road will be Closed.
This complete closure will allow more crew
& resources to work simultaneously and safely, and will ultimately reduce the total time taken for the project.

- 7pm Friday 24/01 Reopen

, speed reduced. Road will re-open from 7pm Friday 24/01 and will remain open over the weekend until
7pm Tuesday evening 28/01 - both directions of travel along Douglas Road
to be active across the railway.
- Closed 7pm Tuesday 28 /01 to 7am Wednesday 29/01. Total
overnight road closure, nightshift active onsite.
Where
possible detours are via sealed road. Detours are clearly marked.
Emergency
vehicles will be accommodated as required.
- 7am Wednesday 29/01 - Reopen
two-way traffic
, speed reduced, to end of day Thursday
30/01. Both directions of travel along Douglas Road to be active across the railway.
- The project
is expected to be completed by the end of day Thursday 30/01/25
WHY: Due to a new watermain that is being trenched under the railway line at Douglas Road, Amberley, there will be changes to the usual flow of traffic. These may involve lengthy delays and long detours to meet KiwiRail requirements. To provide the least amount of disruption to traffic as possible, this work is timed to take advantage of the school holidays.
START: Monday 13 January 2025.
END: Friday 31 January 2025 (or earlier if possible)..
Recycling and Rubbish collections have been accommodated, please put bags out by 8am as usual.
Please follow all onsite signage and reduce your speed.
