Upcoming power outage - Waiau (MainPower)

MainPower will be undertaking a day of maintenance and asset replacement work within Waiau township on Wednesday 8 July, between 8.30am and 5.00pm.

To safely complete this work, there will be a planned power outage and traffic management (road closures, stop/go controls, one-way traffic flows) in place for the whole township, during this time.

Access through Waiau will be maintained via clearly signposted diversions.

MainPower acknowledges that while some properties and businesses will be accessed via controlled checkpoints, properties will always remain accessible.

Notification of this outage will also be given by electricity retailers.

MainPower will have power generation and a team member at the Waiau Community Centre on Wednesday 8 July, so if anyone has a flask they need to fill, or a question to ask, they are encouraged to drop in.
