Notice of Drone Use: Waiau

We are letting residents in Waiau know we have employed Garden City Helicopters to fly a drone over the Waiau Rural Water Supply pipes.

When? Starting Wednesday the 17th of February, 2021, work is expected to take around 2 weeks - weather permitting.

The new data will improve our computer model of the scheme and give us better aerial maps. We are also hoping the drone will help find any hidden water leaks in the pipes.

Please note that we take your privacy seriously and the images on this page are an example of the imagery we will be using. This project is only concerned with rural water supply pipes.

We are in the process of sending a letter to the properties the drone will fly over and want you to know why you may see a drone in the next few weeks. You can see an example of the drones that may be used below. We appreciate your cooperation with us and Garden City Helicopters.
