Hanmer Springs Community Board By-election 2020
A by-election is required to fill TWO extraordinary vacancies for the Hanmer Springs Community Board.
Vacancy one has arisen from the recent election of Mary Holloway as a councillor for the West Ward.
Vacancy two has arisen due to the resignation of Graham Frith.
Nominations for the above position open on Tuesday 1 September 2020 and must be made on the official nomination form. Copies of the nomination form and a candidate information sheet can also be requested from the Hurunui District Council Amberley office or Hanmer Springs Service Centre & Library, or from the electoral officer (see contact details below).
Completed nomination documents must be submitted to the Deputy Electoral Officer, Naomi Woodham no later than 12 noon on Tuesday 29 September 2020.
Each nomination must be accompanied by a deposit of $200 incl GST, payable by EFTPOS, cash or on-line banking (see candidate information sheet for requirements).
Candidates are encouraged to also submit a candidate profile statement and recent colour photograph. The requirements for the profile statement and photo are set out in a candidate information sheet.

If an election is required to fill this vacancy, the election will be conducted by postal voting under the First Past the Post electoral system. Candidate names will be listed in random order on the voting papers.
A preliminary roll for the by-election can be inspected at either the Hurunui District Council office, 66 Carters Road (SH1), Amberley or the Hanmer Springs Library & Service Centre, Cnr Amuri Ave and Cheltenham St, Hanmer Springs during normal office hours from Tuesday 25 August 2020 to Tuesday 22 September 2020.

Non Resident Ratepayers
Applications for registration as a ratepayer elector are to be made on the non-resident ratepayer elector enrolmentform available here and the Hurunui District Council Amberley office or Hanmer Springs Service Centre & Library must be returned to the deputy electoral officer before 4pm on Thursday 29 September 2020 to be included on the roll.
