Three Waters Reform - Formal Consultation

The Hurunui District Council will formally consult on its proposal to oppose the government's announcement that the Three Waters Reform will be mandated.

This will happen using Section 83 (Special Consultative Procedure) of the Local Government Act (LGA). The LGA at s87 allows Council to consult with the community on this proposal and allows the opportunity for enquiries and feedback.

At its meeting on September 28 2021, Council resolved as follows:

THAT THE COUNCIL RESOLVES TO UNDERTAKE FULL CONSULTATION WITH THE COMMUNTIY ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THREE WATERS SERVICE DELIVERY, SHOULD THE GOVERNMENT PROCEED WITH ITS PROPOSAL.

This proposal is available for community feedback via the formal submission process.

From Monday 8th November until Sunday 5th December, 2021.
