The Council is reviewing the Speed Limits Bylaw and Register. Now is your chance to have a formal say on the speed of roads in our district.
Please note the speed for the State Highways is set by the New Zealand Transport Agency, not the Council.
We are proposing changes to speed limits along some of the roads in the district. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback as part of the 1600k - getting there together project last year. We have used the feedback you gave us, along with customer service request records, previous advice from traffic engineers and feedback from the New Zealand Transport Agency to inform the proposed speed limit changes.
Read the documents below and let us know what you think of the proposed speed limit changes, and the bylaw and register. We want to hear from you about the changes you support, as well as the ones you don't. Make a submission to tell us what you think!
Have your say!
Please note submissions closed 5pm Monday 29 June 2020.
