Water shut downs
Waikari Water shutdown
Monday 7th December 9am – 12pm
This shut down is to enable us to carry out maintenance and hydrant washing. The water will be shut off for approximately 3 hours from 9am to 12pm and your property will be affected. During this time, you will not be receiving water or will have an interrupted supply.
The water may be turned back on at any time during this work, so please ensure all taps are turned off. Once water is restored, we advise that you run a cold tap for approximately 30 seconds, or until an even flow is achieved. This is to remove any air that may have entered the pipework
General Information
From time to time, with little or no notice, a water scheme needs to be shut down for a short period of time. This occurs for a variety of reasons, for example:
- Leaks
- Pipe failure
- Mechanical failure
- Blockages
Our Utilities staff work around the clock where there is a need, to ensure that a continuous flow is maintained to your property.
Any leaks or water faults can be reported by any of the following means:
