This resource consent application is for a retirement village at 175 Carters Road, Amberley. The proposal includes a range of retirement living and care options including independent living apartments and units, an aged care hospital and luxury care suites.

Council has received the following further information in relation to this application. Processing of the application remains on hold until such time that NZTA approval is provided to the proposal. Once processing restarts, Council officers will make an assessment of the application and determine whether the application requires public notification and whether there are any affected persons.
This resource consent is for the construction of intake and fishscreen infrastructure on the southern side of the Hurunui River, and the installation of a water distribution pipeline within the Amuri plans south of the Hurunui River.
Resource consent is required because the proposal does comply with the permitted activity rules in the Hurunui District Plan for the establishment of infrastructure within the bed of a river, volume and location of earthworks and indigenous biodiversity clearance near a river.
