Summary of feedback, from Beach Survey 2025/26

The Northern Pegasus Bay Bylaw is currently undergoing a ten-year review. As part of the review a beach survey was undertaken over the summer of 2025/26. The purpose of the survey was to get an understanding of what the community values about the beaches; what issues are important to beach users and ideas for improvement.

Next steps

September 2026 – Councillor workshop to seek direction (should the bylaw be retained? Should another option be utilised?)
September – November 2026 – Draft whichever options Councillors choose.
Estimated late 2026 – Seek approval for consultation.
Estimated early 2027 – Consultation and hearing of feedback / submissions.
By 1 July 2027 – If Councillors decided to continue the bylaw, a revised bylaw needs to be in place by 1 July 2027.
