Tena koutou katoa, hello and welcome.

The introduction of the Community Team to the Hurunui District provides us with an exciting opportunity to build a resilient and vibrant community, where everyone can be part of our economic, civic and social life.

I want everyone who lives in our beautiful district to contribute to our own and our families’ future. Communities that actively build bridges between locals and newcomers set themselves apart. Our community team affirms our council and district’s commitment to work as one. It seeks to foster an environment of acceptance and inclusion and to create a sense of belonging for all.

This is a call to action, and it is my honour to join and lead you in the journey.
