WANTED - Local Community Champions
Your experience, insights, and ideas are exactly what we need to make our district a place where everyone can thrive.
We are looking for 3–4 passionate community members to join our Age‑Friendly Steering Group.
The Hurunui Age Friendly Action Plan was approved July 2025.
We're now looking for some enthusiastic people to join our current steering group members to support council staff with direction, provide ideas and knowledge of older person concerns and help drive action on the plan's priorities.
Diversity is key so we would love to hear from people from different parts of the community (e.g. farming, nursing, volunteering, community groups). If you have a passion for the age friendly space, then I'd love to chat. Your lived experience and ideas are what we're looking for.
First items to achieve is setting our meeting schedule (time/date/occurrence), developing our terms of reference and to set expectations for 2026.
