Kanopy and Kanopy Kids
Kanopy is a streaming service where you can watch movies, documentaries and series. With over 10,000 titles and with new content added monthly there is something here for everyone. You can access Kanopy from your desktop computer, laptop, mobile device, Apple TV, and Chromecast.
Kanopy is free to use by signing up with your library card and pin number, and email address.
Kanopy is intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older.
If you are under 18, you may create and use a Kanopy account only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
Access Kanopy online and also access Kanopy Kids online.
- Click on the “Get Started” button
- Choose “Find Your Library”
- Search for Hurunui District Libraries
- Click on the “Select this Library” button
- Enter your Library card number and PIN and click on the “Continue” button
- Create Your Account: Enter your name and email address and a password and select the confirmation of Age, T&C’s, Privacy Policy
- Click the “Sign up" button
- Kanopy will send you a confirmation email. Go to your email, and click the "Verify My Email" link in your email.

Kanopy Kids
Kanopy Kids is a free online streaming service to explore a range of enriching, educational and entertaining content through movies and shows.
With the ability to set up parental controls you can ensure your child is viewing age appropriate content.
Kanopy does not provide the New Zealand classification ratings on individual titles. Head to the Office of Film and Literature's website to find out classifications for Kanopy films. http://www.fvlb.org.nz/nz.

Kanopy Tickets
- Instead of play credits, you'll now get 30 tickets each month to watch films from Hurunui District Libraries.
- See the number of tickets* and access period* for each film next to the play button. (* Ticket amount and access period may be different at other libraries).
- Your tickets reset on the 1st of the month.
- Films appear on your Continue Watching list with the remaining time in your access period.

Note: Kanopy Kids titles don't use tickets, so you can watch as many kid-friendly titles as you'd like.
